While browsing through a few of my Monday moring favorite sites I came across this cool little video about the Ferrari brand. I have always been impressed with how Ferrari has maintained their brand over the decades and was curious what the Prancing Pony meant. Apparently before the company was even founded, Enzo Ferrari planned on using the horse as his mark. What I like about this story is that the brand has meaning. He built a company around an idea. He used symbolism in his brand that is still relevant today. I bet that the management team at Ferrari didn't sit around story-boarding their branding ideas, mission statements and all the usual things people do when they establish a company. My guess is that they were dreaming about how they could build the best cars in the world and make an impact that will last generations. The pony and the story of it's coming to be just happened at the right time!
We launched the brand new website for Basil Cooper Photography today. For those of you who don't know Basil personally, he is an absolutely amazing photographer. Much of his expertise is in family portraits, wedding photography, shcool photos, and event photos. If you have kids in the Kelowna School District then you have likely crossed paths with Basil and his wife Kristi.
We had some fun developing this site for sure. It is always nice to build a website that is very visually based. We went for a clean look that puts Basil's work front and centre and also created him a simple brand that can be used on any form of media. What is represented on the site is only a tiny sliver of the thousands of photographs in their portfolio.
Stay Tuned Sports is a small, service oriented shop located right in the middle of Kelowna BC. Rick 'Swany' Swanson and his crew of powder hounds specialize in professional tuning of skis and boards as well as top notch boot fitting. Stay Tuned also has a selection of new skis, boots, clothes, and accessories in their showroom.
When we first talked to Rick, he didn't have a website and didn't think he needed one. He said if people want to find him, he'll give em the best service they ever got. We agreed with the service part but thought we could help with a basic site that represented his brand, had a handy map feature on it and gave potential customers an idea what it is they are up to there in the Landmark area of town.
